We day camped at the Valley Center History Museum today.

Valley Center was originally called Bear Valley, a name bestowed in 1866, when the largest ever California grizzly bear was shot here. It weighed 2200 pounds and was found to have a pound of lead bullets in its head. The town name was changed in the 1870s, because there already was a town in California named Bear Valley.

The old - teeny - Lilac post office is the smallest in the U.S., and was in use from 1898 to 1912. The building stood on Lilac Road for 106 years, before it was moved to the Museum in 2004.

Betty Crocker boede i Valley Center og hed i virkeligheden Agnes White Tizard. Der kan man bare se!
