El Centro, California

El Centro is the largest city in Imperial County, California.
It is located along Interstate 8 between San Diego and Yuma.

We went to El Centro today. It is a city of about 40.000 inhabitants, a great deal of which are of Mexican descent. The town developed around agriculture in the early 1900's, when water was brought to the desert.
And I think I've mentioned before that it seems strangely frozen in time, stuck somewhere in the 1950's.
