March 6, 2009 Dansk tekst til venstre English text on the right Dagens baghave: Backyard of the Day: San Dieguito Heritage Museum, Encinitas, San Diego County, California The San Dieguito Heritage Museum is located at 450 Quail Gardens Drive in Encinitas, San Diego County, California   Vi besøgte San Dieguito Heritage Museum, et lille lokalhistorisk museum i Encinitas, som er tilegnet kyststrækningen mellem Del Mar og Leucadia i det nordlige San Diego, og så langt ind i landet som Rancho Santa Fe. We visited the San Dieguito Heritage Museum, a small local history museum in Encinitas, which is dedicated to the coastal area lying between Del Mar and Leucadia in Northern San Diego, and stretching as far inland as Rancho Santa Fe.     Indianerne var her først... Native American artifacts...     Udenfor står en kopi af en ewa, en kuumeyaay indianerhytte. Outside stands a copy of an ewa, a kuumeyaay Indian dwelling.

Området omkring Encinitas blev storproducent af limabønner først i 1900-tallet, da man opdagede, at det var en nøjsom afgrøde, der fandt sig i både tørke og skadedyrsangreb. The area around Encinitas came to produce large quantities of lima beans in the early 1900s, when it was found to be an undemanding crop that tolerated both draught and pests.     Prøv at overse de alt for velpudsede voksfrugter.... Nogle af de allerførste skateboards blev lavet i Encinitas først i 1970erne... Some of the very first skateboards were built in Encinitas in the early 1970s...     ...og området figurerer ligeså prominent indenfor surfing. ...and the area is similarly prominent in surfing history.

Udenfor står en gammel brandbil fra Del Mar udstillet sammen med kulissen af en gammel benzinstation. Begge blev brugt i optagelsen af Alex Woodards nye musikvideo "Reno" med Sara Watkins fra Nickel Creek. Outside an old fire truck from Del Mar is displayed alongside the backdrop of an old gas station. Both were used in the filming of Alex Woodard's new music video "Reno" with Sara Watkins of Nickel Creek.

Day Camping/Boondocking Information The San Dieguito Heritage Museum in Encinitas is a decent spot for day camping. There is plenty of parking, both structured parking, and unstructured parking in an open field. The area is not available for overnight camping/parking.
