Backyard of the Day:

Cactus County Park, Lakeside, San Diego County, California

Cactus County Park is located at 10610 Ashwood Street in Lakeside, San Diego County, California

Der skulle løbes ærinder og provianteres i dag, så det var først i eftermiddags vi slog os ned i Cactus County Park.

There were errands and stocking up to do, so it wasn't till this afternoon we settled down in Cactus County Park.

A certain doggie poked his nose out a little too far, and found out why the place is called "Cactus Park."
Actually the park got its name because it was once used for an experiment growing spineless cactus for cattle feed.

Day Camping/Boondocking Information

Cactus County Park is a decent spot for day camping, if you are looking for a place to hang out, but not for much in the way of entertainment. Parking is plentiful, but the park is not terribly scenic. There is a lot of trash laying around on the hiking/biking/riding trails, and it is really mostly a sports park. The BMX race track and the model air field across the road can provide some entertainment, if there is activity there.

Facilities:

Sports fields
Restrooms
Small playground
Short hiking trails

Dogs must be leashed.
