Today we daycamped at the ranch of actor Leo Carrillo, "Rancho de los Quiotes" in Carlsbad.

Leo Carrillo levede fra 1880 til 1961. Han købte dette stykke land i 1930erne og byggede sig en spansk rancho her. Leo Carrillo lived from 1880 to 1961. He bought this property in the 1930s, building this Spanish rancho here.

Rancho de los Quiotes betyder "De Spanske Dolkes Ranch," og navnet kommer af stedets mange agaver, som også kaldes spanske dolke. Rancho de los Quiotes means "Ranch of the Spanish Daggers," and the name comes from the many agaves. also called Spanish daggers.     Ranchen er hjem til en stor flok påfugle, som er efterkommere efter de påfugle Leo Carrillo holdt her. Påfuglene spankulerer frit rundt, som om de ejer det hele... men det gør de jo egentlig også! The Ranch is home to a number of peacocks, all descendants of peacocks kept here by Leo Carrillo.
