Cadillac Ranch, Amarillo, Potter County, Texas

The Cadillac Ranch is located off Interstate 40 between Amarillo and Bushland in Potter County, Texas

We rejoined old Highway 66 again in Amarillo and stopped outside of town at Cadillac Ranch, which, by the way, has been moved a bit since we were last here, because it was being swallowed up by the city.

Cadillac Ranch consists of ten Cadillacs buried nose down in a straight line in 1974 by three members of the artist group "Ant Farm".
The art work was created on the initiative of millionaire Stanley Marsh 3, who owns the field where it stands.

The cars originally were not spray painted, this has been done by visitors. The cars were painted black in 2003, when one of the "Ant Farm" artists died, but they didn't remain colorless for long.
