Harbor Island, like Shelter Island, is a manmade peninsula. It is most remarkable for the great view of San Diego and for a flock of wild parrots that live here.

Boondocking Information Harbor Island is a good spot for day camping. It has three-hour timed (but free) parking along the lengt of the peninsula, as well as a parking lot at the western end, which allows unlimited free parking from 6:00 am to 10:30 pm.
