Hun har selv optrådt her siden 1968.

We went to a performance at the Amargosa Opera House. It is in the middle of the desert in Death Valley Junction, a ghost town originally called Amargosa. The building was between 1924 and 1948 a social hall known as Corkill Hall. The abandoned building was taken over in 1967 by Broadway singer and dancer Marta Becket and her husband, and turned into a hotel and theater. She has performed here since 1968. At age 82 she still performs on Saturday nights.

Marta Becket spent six years painting the walls and ceiling of the theater in those early days when she didn't always attract a large audience.
