We got our custard and continued out Old Route 66 to Meramec Caverns, maybe most famous for a claim that Jesse and Frank James hid here for several days in 1874 after a train robbery. The sheriff guarded the cave entrance in an attempt to starve out the James brothers, and after three days, he went in to see what became of them. To his surprise he found only their horses. Jesse and Frank James had escaped via a subterranean river, which few knew about in those days.     Meramec Caverns er virkelig flotte, og den underjordiske flod er fantastisk. If I had a complaint, it would be the fact that our guides didn't give people nearly enough time to take pictures.
