serverer foreløbig kun tacos grillet over egeved efter kl.
We took a drive out to Dulzura
Café, which we love, and which is a destination unto itself.
The new owners have opened the cafe for dinner, and for the time
being serve only tacos grilled over oak wood after 2 pm - absolutely
the best carne asada tacos I've ever tasted... and I know my tacos!
The cafe is next to the second
smallest post office in the US. |

En rejse tilbage i tiden... ~ A
trip back in time...

|
Kitty Pheifer i 1977.
I dag køres
Martha Henandez. |
Originally this place was a
provisions store, destroyed in a flood and demolished in 1926-27. It
was replaced by a new building, which encompasses the present day
kitchen and serving counter. The place wasn't turned into a
restaurant until the 1940s by Jack Talbot, and was then expanded to
its current size.
The restaurant went from owner
to owner for many years, until it was bought by Earl and Kitty
Pheifer in 1977. They brought in the eclectic and rustic decor, and
owned the place until a few years ago. Today the café is once
again a family business, owned by Jose Luis and Martha Henandez. |
