Vilde Vesten. |
From Oklahoma we drove north to
Kansas last night, and we spent the day today in Dodge City, Kansas,
once known as the meanest little town in the Wild West. |

|
Museet er opkaldt efter den
gamle "Boot Hill" Kirkegård, der stadig ligger
nordvest for byen, omend alle de afdødes jordiske rester menes
at være flyttet til byens "rigtige" kirkegård
omkring 1879.
The Museum was named for the old
"Boot Hill" Cemetery, which is still located northwest of
town, although remains of all those interred are believed to have
been moved to the town's "real" cemetery about 1879. It was
a more or less unofficial burial ground, where people were buried if
they were either indigent or unknown, or if they were just considered
too villainous to be buried with the proper, law abiding Christian
folks in the regular cemetery. |

Alice Chambers menes at
eneste kvinde. Hun var prostitueret og døde pengeløs og
venneløs af naturlige årsager. |
