Dagens baghave:

Backyard of the Day:

Old Route 66, Mohave County, Arizona

This particular section of Old Route 66 runs between Kingman in Mohave County, Arizona, and Needles, San Bernardino County, California.

Vi sluttede os endnu engang til Gamle Rute 66, som vest for Kingman, Arizona, bliver til en smal, forslidt og lidt øde landevej.

We once again joined Old Route 66, which west of Kingman, Arizona, becomes a narrow, worn-out and somewhat desolate highway.

Herude er Gamle Rute 66 fuld af hårnålesving... men vi tog heldigvis ikke samme tur som ham her:

Out here Old Route 66 is full of hairpin turns... fortunately we didn't meet the same fate as this guy:

Goldroad

Der er ikke meget tilbage af byen Goldroad... men guldminen er for nylig åbnet igen, i forbindelse med at guldpriserne er steget.

Not much is left of the town Goldroad... but the goldmine recently reopened, because of the increase in gold prices.

Camping/Boondocking Information

Please let me emphasize that Highway 66 between Cool Springs Camp and Oatman is a narrow road with long stretches of sharp turns sometimes following along a steep drop-off on one side and a cliff wall on the other. We were fine driving it with the Lance Camper, but I would really not recommend driving this in a large RV or if towing, there is just so little room to navigate.

Oatman is still accessible in a large RV or when towing, but I would recommend driving there from Needles rather than Kingman.
