Backyard of the Day:

The Flower Fields, Carlsbad,
San Diego County, California

The Flower Fields are located at 5704 Paseo Del Norte
in Carlsbad, San Diego County, California

The Flower Fields are open approximately March - April each year.

We day camped at the Carlsbad Flower Fields, fifty acres of beautiful blooming Tecolote Ranunculus flowers, relative of the buttercup.

The wild ranunculus flower has a single layer of petals and exists only in yellows and reds. The Frazee family (yes, the guys with the paint) began cultivating the ranunculus here in the 1930s and has created many-petaled flowers in fifteen different colors.

Herfra sendes ranunklerne direkte til blomsterhandlere landet over.

From here ranunculus flowers go out to florists around the country.

Legoland, which is just next door, has their own little garden plot here.

Entertainment by Khausak, whom I absolutely love...
