The Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial is located on Highway 162 near Lincoln City, Spencer County, Indiana.

This afternoon we visited Abraham Lincoln's boyhood home in Indiana, where the family moved when Abe was seven years old.

The Lincoln family came to Indiana from Kentucky in 1816 by this road, today called the Lincoln Trace.

Resterne af Lincoln-familiens hytte er blevet bronzeret.

The remnants of the Lincoln family cabin have been bronzed.

In 1818, just under two years after arriving in Indiana, Abe Lincoln's mother, Nancy Hanks Lincoln, died from milk sickness, which is caused by cattle eating white snakeroot, which poisons their milk.

Next to the remnants of the original Lincoln cabin lies this reproduction. After Abraham Lincoln's father, Thomas, remarried, eight people were living in this house.
