Dagens baghave:

Backyard of the Day:

Theodore Roosevelt National Park, Medora, Billings County, North Dakota

Theodore Roosevelt National Park is divided into three sections, the oldest and most southern of which is located just off Highway 94 in Medora, Billings County, North Dakota.

We crossed over into North Dakota this morning, and it wasn't long before we were in the North Dakota Badlands. We drove to Theodore Roosevelt National Park, which encompasses much of this colorful wilderness of canyons, buttes, and grasslands.

Præsident Theodore Roosevelt havde en stor ranch her, og hans første stuehus står her endnu.

President Theodore Roosevelt had a large ranch here, and his first ranch house still stands.

One of the first things we found among the buttes was more prairie dog towns, and these prairie dogs were a little better at posing for pictures than the ones yesterday.

Turist i præriehundebyen? ~ Tourist in prairie dog town?

And there were buffalo, which are especially plentiful in North Dakota...

...Og flere bison... ~ ...And more buffalo...

"Kom så da, sønnike..." ~ "Come on now, Sonny..."

Når mere solide stenlag ligger over blødere lag ~
When more solid rock layes are on top of softer layers.

Flere præriehunde ~ More prairie dogs

Her.

"Look how handsome I am, are you ready with the camera? Here. What if I stand like this, isn't that a good look?"

And my favorite part of it all... the feral horses!

Fortsæt turen ~ Continue the trip
