Boondocking Information

The Coronado Ferry Landing is the best spot for day camping as well as overnight boondocking when visiting the USS Midway, as downtown parking can be expensive and difficult, and the Coronado Ferry lands right next to the Navy Pier.
The parking lot at the Ferry Landing is free, but it has very restrictive parking regulations, but there is lots of unmetered street parking. Observe signs in the area restricting parking of oversized/tall vehicles. There are still many places to park a camper, and when we checked with Coronado police, they told us we could keep the camper parked on the street for up to 48 hours.

Facilities at the Ferry Landing:

Bicycle rentals
Ferry to Downtown San Diego ($4 each way).
