Backyard of the Day:

San Elijo Lagoon Ecological Reserve, Solana Beach, San Diego County, California

San Elijo Lagoon Ecological Reserve may be accessed from Rios Avenue, Santa Carina Drive, or Santa Helena Drive in Solana Beach or from El Camino Real near Orilla Creek in Rancho Santa Fe, San Diego County, California

Vi camperede for enden af Rios Avenue i Solana Beach i dag, og gik en lang tur langs San Elijo Lagoon, en lagune og marsk, der ligger hvor San Luis Rey river udmunder i Stillehavet.

We day camped at the end of Rios Avenue in Solana Beach today, and went for a hike along the San Elijo Lagoon, a marsh located where the San Luis Rey river empties into the Pacific.

Day Camping/Boondocking Information

San Elijo Lagoon is a decent spot for day camping.
The parking area at the end of Rios Avenue was curbside in a quiet cul-de-sac in a nice neighborhood. When we were here it was not crowded. There are no signs prohibiting overnight camping/parking, but we don't know what the local ordinances are.

No facilities.
