Parken blev grundlagt først i 1900-tallet, og fik navnet Grape Day Park, fordi det var her, Escondidos årlige "drue-dags-fest" blev afholdt. We day camped in Grape Day Park in Escondido, which houses the Escondido History Center. The Park was established in the early 1900s and was named Grape Day Park, because this was the site of Escondido's annual Grape Day Celebration.     Parken huser adskillige gamle b bygninger, iblandt dem Escondidos gamle stationsbygning på Santa Fe linien, fra 1888. The park is home to several old houses. among them Escondido's old station building, the Santa Fe Depot, from 1888.
