Point Fermin Lighthouse and

Point Fermin Lighthouse is
located at 807 West Paseo Del Mar in Point Fermin Park, San Pedro,
Los Angeles County, California

Lige på den anden side af
vejen, overfor caféen,
lå vores egentlige rejsemål i dag, Point Fermin
Just across the road, across
from the café, was today's
primary destination, Point Fermin Lighthouse, a beautiful old
lighthouse, which was built in 1874. |

|
Hereford Lighthouse i New Jersey, foruden dette.
De første fyrpassere her
This Victorian lighthouse was
designed by Paul J. Pelz.
Six American lighthouses were
built with this beautiful design, of which three remain, the other
two being East Brother Lighthouse in San Francisco and Hereford
Lighthouse in New Jersey.
The first light keepers here
were women, sisters Mary and Ella Smith, who were here from 1874 to
1882. The lighthouse was in use until 1941, and went dark due to
World War II, when it was used as a radar station. After the war it
was never recommissioned, but the house was occupied until 2002, and
it was only recently made into a museum. |
