Stagecoach Park, Carlsbad,
San Diego County, California

Stagecoach Park is located at 3420 Camino De Los Coches
in Carlsbad, San Diego County, California.

We day camped in Stagecoach Park in Carlsbad today. The park is part of the old Rancho las Encinitas grant.

Rancho las Encinitas was granted to Andrés Ybarra by Mexican Governor Alvarado on 3 July, 1842. The ruins of Ybarra's home still stand, and the old adobe walls are protected by a covered enclosure.
As the building was located midway between Mission San Diego d'Alcala and Mission San Luis Rey, it became a convenient stop on the stage route between San Diego and Los Angeles after 1864, a trip that lasted two days.

Next to the old stage station ruins lies the sculpture "Crown Lair," which was created by Lloyd Hamrol in 1989.
