Smoky Mountains er ikke storslåede og dramatiske som vi er vandt til ude vestpå, men de er utroligt betagende på grund af plantelivet. Her i bjergene vokser 150 forskellige slags træer og over 1500 slags vilde blomster. Det er virkelig helt ubeskriveligt. It wasn't far from South Carolina to North Carolina, so here we are just a few hours later in Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The Smoky Mountains aren't stunning and dramatic like we are used to out west, but they are absolutely amazing because of the plant life here. In these mountains grow 150 different kinds of trees and more than 1500 kinds of wildflowers. It's indescribable.         Oconaluftee River

En familie ved navn Enloe havde en gård her omkring 1900. De solgte den til nabofamilien Floyd i 1917, og i 1953 blev gården gjort til landbrugsmuseum. A family by the name of Enloe had a farm here around 1900. They sold it to the neighboring Floyds in 1917, and in 1953 the farm was made into a farming museum.         Urtetørring ~ Drying herbs

Smedje ~ Blacksmith           Den gamle lade er 160 år gammel, og er den eneste oprindelig bygning på stedet, resten er flyttet hertil fra oplandet. The old barn is 160 years old, and the only original building to this farm, the rest were moved here from the surrounding area.

Camping Information We're camping at Smoky Mountain Campground in Bryson City, North Carolina. We are paying $20.00 a night with full hook-ups. This park is on the river but off the main drag and very quaint and quiet. The bathrooms like most everything in the park, are old, but they are clean and perfectly functional.
