Parkens bygninger var egentlig midlertidige strukturer, der blev bygget til verdensudstillinger i 1915 og 1935. The park buildings were actually temporary structures built for world expositions in 1915 and 1935. Against every expectation the buildings lasted into the 21st century, and only in the last several years have they had to be completely and thoroughly restored.     El Cid Campeador Statue Denne statue forestiller Rodrigo Diaz de Bivar, berømt krigshelt i Spaniens krig mod maurerne. Statuen er lavet i 1930 af kunstnerinden Anna Hyatt Huntington. This statue depicts Rodrigo Diaz de Bivar, the famous war hero in Spain's struggle agains the Moors. The statue was created in 1930 by artist Anna Hyatt Huntington.

Casa del Prado Casa del Prado blev bygget som restaurationsbygning i 1915 til Californien-Panama-Udstillingen. Casa del Prado was built as a food and beverage building in 1915 for the California-Panama Exhibition. Casa del Prado huser nu gamle brudstykker af Balboa Parks facader, der er bevaret efter gennemrestaureringen. Casa del Prado now houses old ornamental fragments of Balboa Park's buildings, preserved after the restoration.

Spreckels Orgel Pavillion ~ Spreckels Organ Pavillion Spreckels-orgelet er bygget i 1915 og er verdens største med 4500 orgelpiber. San Diego har en fastansat organist, som giver gratis orgelkoncert her hver søndag eftermiddag. The Spreckels Organ is built in 1915 and is the world's largest with 4500 organ pipes. Casa de Balboa     Casa de Balboa blev bygget i 1915 til Californien-Panama-Udstillingen. Bygningen, som hovedsaligt er designet af Frank P. Today the building houses the visitor's center.             Donald Hords statue "Aztec-Kvinden fra Tehuantepec" danner centrum for springvandet i Gæstfrihedens Hus, mit yndlingsspringvand i parken. Donald Hord's statue "The Aztec Woman from Tehuantepec" is the center of the fountain in House of Hospitality, my favorite fountain in the park.

Californientårnet og Californienbygningen ~ California Tower and California Building Californienbygningen blev bygget i 1915 til Californien-Panama-Udstillingen. Bygningen er inspireret af kathedralen i Oaxaca, Mexico. The California Building was built in 1915 for the California-Panama Exhibition. The building is inspired by the cathedral at Oaxaca, Mexico.   "TERRA FRUMENTI HORDEI, AC VINARUM IN QUA FICUS ET MALOGRANATA ET OLIVETA NASCUNTUR, TERRAM OLEI AC MELLIS" Rundt om kuplen står: "Et land af hvede og byg og vinranker og figentræer og granatæbler; et land af olivenolie og honning" Around the dome it says: "A land of wheat and barley, and vines, and fig-trees, and pomegranates; a land of olive oil and honey"

Alcazarhaven ~ Alcazar Garden   Alcazarhaven er bygget efter haverne ved Alcazar-slottet i Seville, Spanien Alcazar Garden is modeled after the gardens at Alcazar Castle, Sevilla, Spain.           Bea Evenson Fountain, Plaza del Balboa Dette springvand er opkaldt efter Beatrice Barker Evenson, som i 1960erne blev aktivt involveret i at bevare Balboa Parks gamle bygninger. This fountain is named after Beatrice Barker Evenson who in the 1960s became actively involved in preserving Balboa Park's old buildings.

Casa del Prado Theater Casa del Prado Teatret er egentlig del af Casa del Prado bygningskomplekset. Det huser nu San Diegos Børneteater. Casa del Prado Theater is actually part of the Casa del Prado complex. It is home to San Diego's Junior Theater.

Et andet finurligt springvand ~ Another whimsical fountain     San Diego Kunstmuseum ~ San Diego Museum of Art Jeg har en idé... hvad med at vi bygger knustmuseet, så det passer til de andre bygninger, og så overhænger det med alverdens rædselsfulde plakater og tingeltangel...? I have an idea... how about we build the Museum of Art so it matches all the other buildings, and then we'll cover it in all kinds of hideous posters and a conglomeration of other kinds of junk...?
