Backyard of the Day:

Engel Family Preserve, Fallbrook, San Diego County, California

The Engel Family Preserve is located on Sumac Road, a little south of the intersection with Pala Mesa Road, in Fallbrook, San Diego County, California

I dag camperede vi ved Engel Family Preserve i Fallbrook, en tidligere frugtplantage, hvorfra der er en helt fantastisk udsigt over Palomar Mountain og Pala Mesa.

Today we camped at Engel Family Preserve in Fallbrook, a one time citrus plantation from where there are spectacular views of Palomar Mountain and Pala Mesa.

Day Camping/Boondocking Information

The Engel Family Preserve is not particularly suited for any kind of RV camping. Access to the preserve is via steep, windy two lane roads (Sage and Sumac), then through a residential easement, and finally parking is limited to a small turnout off a narrow dirt road at the gate. We did okay in a Lance Camper, but personally I don't think we would have been able to fit, much less turn around, in anything much larger than that. The preserve is open from dawn to dusk.
