Backyard of the Day: |
Humboldt Redwoods State Park,
Weott, Humboldt County, California

Humboldt Redwoods State Park is
located around the towns of Myers Flatt and Weott in Humboldt County, California

|
Nord for Rockport drejer gamle
Hovedvej 101 bragte os ind i
North of Rockport Old Highway 1
veers off from the coast to join Highway 101. The coastal area
located north of Rockport is known as "the lost coast,"
because the coast here is so rugged that back in the day they largely
gave up on building roads there.
Highway 101 brought us into the
Sequoia woods again, to Humboldt Redwoods State Park, which we
entered on the road known as "Avenue of the Giants". |

Before we reached Humboldt
Redwoods State Park we visited the "Tree House", a tree
which is actually large enough that there is a room inside of it.
Which leads me to mention that every Tom, Dick, and Harry up here has
a large tree in the backyard, which is "world famous" and
which "you must see," such as the "grandfather
tree", the "living chimney tree", and the "drive
through tree." Not to mention the Bigfoot museums. |
