The weather was great, and we day camped at Moonlight State Beach in Encinitas today. There were a lot of people in the water, though I don't think the weather was THAT great. Day Camping/Boondocking Information Moonlight State Beach in an excellent place for day camping. The parking lot is large and easily accessible, but will often fill up early in summer. There is no overnight camping, and the parking lot closes at 10 pm. Facilities: Restrooms Beach showers Beach with lifeguards Playground Snack bar Dogs not allowed on beach.
