On our way back to the camper we went around by the Santa Fe Railroad Depot, the old railroad station. The station building, which is from 1915, is built in Spanish Mission style and is still in use. It was almost torn down in 1971 to be replaced by a modern station building, but fortunately loud protests from the locals saved the beautiful building.

The station is in the Gaslamp Quarter and nearly disappears between the skyscrapers.

We walked back to the camper through the arbor that runs along the railroad tracks.
