Vi day camped at Bancroft Ranch House today. The house is adobe, and was built next to the spring that gave Spring Valley its name in the mid-1800s.
About the best thing at this museum is the curator, who's been around a while and is a fantastic storyteller.

The Spring Valley spring doesn't look like much, but it's kept the surrounding oasis alive for over one hundred years.

The house is named after historian Hubert Howe Bancroft, who lived here 1885 to 1918.

Day Camping/Boondocking Information

The Bancroft Ranch House museum is located at the end of a cul-de-sac, and the parking area for the museum could almost be considered street parking. It was a good spot for day camping, and had we asked to camp overnight, I doubt we'd have been turned down.

Facilities:
Free parking
Museum
Picnic areas on museum grounds
