Dagens baghave:

Backyard of the Day:

Cabrillo Tide Pools
AKA Point Loma Tide Pools
Point Loma, San Diego County, California

The tide pools are located on the cliffs near the Cabrillo National Monument in Point Loma, San Diego County, California.

We day camped at Cabrillo Tidepools today, because we knew that there'd be a good solid low tide this afternoon, so we'd be able to explore the tidepools.

Chitons, also known as sea cradles, are primitive mollusks that embed themselves in underwater rocks.

Hvor der sædvanligvis er havbund...

Where the bottom of the sea is, usually...

We found lots and lots of hermit crabs, small soft creatures that move into abandoned snail shells to find protection.

There are beautiful green sea anemones everywhere, and those that are left high and dry whenever the tide pulls out fold in on themselves and look like little piles of sand and tiny sea shells.

The big find of the day was a keyhole limpet, a big sea snail about the size of the palm of your hand.
