METTE JENSDATTER OLESEN

METTE JENSDATTER OLESEN, born 24 July 1798, Kjærbye, Asperup Sogn, Vends Herred, Fyn, Denmark, died 17 October 1848 after a lengthy illness, aged 50 years, 11 weeks, 5 days. Daughter of farmer Jens and his wife Maren Jørgensdatter Rasmussen, and youngest of their eleven children. Attended grade school at Baaring School and was confirmed at Asperup Church, both in Asperup Sogn, Vends Herred, Fyn, Denmark. She lived with her parents till 1820, when she married Ole Olesen at his farm "Christiansdal" in Staurby Mark, Asperup Sogn, Vends Herred, Fyn, Denmark. They had 5 sons and 4 daughters. Mette Jensdatter Olesen was predeceased by six siblings and two daughters. Two of her sons were deployed with the military at the time of her death and unable to attend the funeral.

HANNAH AMELIA OWENS, born 26 February 1856 in Ohio, died 27 April 1951 in Winterset, Madison County, Iowa. Daughter of Hugh and Eliza Owens. In 1880 married grocer Cortez J. Lynch. Mother of Laura Candace Lynch, Bernice Virginia Lynch, and Mary Lucille Lynch, as well as two daughters who died young before 1900. Portrait under Cortez J. Lynch entry.
