SAMUEL PETER POSTELL HARSEY, born 16 April 1866 in Swansea, Lexington County, South Carolina, died 15 April 1925 in Swansea, Lexington County, South Carolina. Son of Samuel Harsey and his wife Mary Ann Inabinet. Married Harriett Georgeana Jeffcoat. Father of Grover Richardson Harsey.

ISIAH HART

ISIAH HART, born 1 june 1803, Columbia, Richland County, South Carolina, died 2 June 1887, Jefferson County, Mississippi. Youngest of nine children born to John Bryan and his wife Mary Gill Hart. Married Eliza Gill in 1828 in Mississippi and they lived initially at Bogue Chitto, Neshoba County, Mississippi, later at Meadville, Franklin County, Mississippi.

ANN HOBBY

ANN HOBBY, born 9 September 1670, Boston, Suffolk County, Massachussetts. Daughter of merchant William Hobby, Sr. and his wife Ann.

CHARLES HOBBY

Sir CHARLES HOBBY, born in England, died in 1714 in London, co. Middlesex, England. Son of merchant William Hobby, Sr. and his wife Ann. Married Elizabeth Colman, by whom he may have had three children. Was knighted in 1692 for bravery displayed at the Jamaica earthquake, and according to some "for the further consideration of £800 sterling." In connection to his 1705 solicitation to be appointed Governor of New England, he is said to have been "a gay [cheerful] man, a free liver, and of very different behavior from what one would have expected should have recommended him to the clergy of New England." Sir Charles Hobby was the commander of a Massachussetts regiment when Port Royal was seized in 1710, having newly returned from England. His wife survived him, dying in November of 1716, at which time the estate was declared insolvent.

ELIZABETH HOBBY, born 18 October 1676, Boston, Suffolk County, Massachussetts. Daughter of merchant William Hobby, Sr. and his wife Ann. First married Thomas Lillie on 2 June 1698, secondly married Oxenbridge Thatcher.

JOHN HOBBY, born in England, died 7 September 1711, Boston, Suffolk County, Massachussetts. Son of merchant William Hobby, Sr. and his wife Ann. First married Hannah, who died 26 June 1690 at 27 years of age. Secondly he married Ann Wensley, who after his death, on 30 September 1715, secondly married Thomas Archer. Father of Charles Hobby, Wensley Hobby, William Hobby, and Edward Hobby.

WENSLEY HOBBY

WENSLEY HOBBY, baptized 30 September 1706, Boston, Suffolk County, Massachussetts. Son of Ann and John Hobby. Graduated from Harvard University in 1723. On 13 July 1732 married Rachel Cookson.

WILLIAM HOBBY

Rev. WILLIAM HOBBY, baptized 17 August 1707, Boston, Suffolk County, Massachussetts, died 18 June 1765, Reading, Middlesex County, Massachussetts. Son of Ann and John Hobby. Graduated from Harvard University in 1725, and became Minister of Reading in 1732, a post he held till his death. William Hobby was the author of "Vindication of Whitefield" in 1745 and "Self-Examination" in 1746.
