Geisler/Bader
i Strigau

Geisler/Bader
in Strigau

Our great-grandfather, Carl Heinrich Wilhelm Geisler (1858-1931), was born in Striegau in Prussia (now part of Poland), and about 1880 came on foot to the border area between Denmark and Germany, where he settled down. His parents remained back in Prussia and we know nothing about them, except their names, August Geisler and Rosina Bader.

Randlett/Jones/Hughes
i Louisiana

Randlett/Jones/Hughes
in Louisiana

Our great-grandfather, Samuel Randlett Hughes (1862-1932), was born in the small town of Franklin in St. Mary Parish in Louisiana. His father was James Patrick Hughes, son of James Terrance Hughes and Nancy Marie McGarey.
The only thing we know for sure about his mother is her name, Marie Anne Jones. Was she a daughter of Thomas Jones of Franklin?
We are also interested in finding out whether there is a familial relationship with Samuel Lathrop Randlett (1818-1882), who lived in Franklin around the time Samuel Randlett Hughes was born. Samuel Lathrop Randlett was married to Eliza Virginia Parkerson.
Also, there was a Samuel P. Hughes in Franklin in 1868. Samuel Randlett Hughes named one son Samuel Peter Hughes. Were Samuel P. and Samuel Randlett Hughes' father perhaps brothers or cousins?
