Epitaphs of William Keene, and of Thomas Banks, second husband of Elizabeth Rogers
William Keene, his wife Elizabeth Rogers, and her second husband Thomas Banks are all buried side by side at "Cypress Farm" in Cherry Point Neck, Northumberland County, Virginia, where the tombstone of Thomas Banks is said to still be found. The original "Cypress Farm," home of the Keene family, was destroyed by the British when they bombed Washington, D.C. and the Potomac shores, and it was replaced by a newer structure after 1812. |
