Whereas
I Owen Jenkins of the state of South Carolina and Greenville
district have and duly executed my last will and testament in writing
bearing date the 30th dau of August 1847 in which I appointed my 3
sons my executors viz James L. Jenkins, Owen H. Jenkins and Jesse M.
Jenkins. Now I do hereby revoke and make voyd that appointment and in
lieu thereof do direct that my estate be administered on I likewise
in my last will to my wife Nancy all and the whole of my personal
estate during her life and at her death to be judiciously disposed of
and equally divided between my several children. I do hereby revoke
and make void that part of my will and in lieu thereof do give to my
wife, Mary the whole of my personal estate to be injoyed by her for
the term of her natural life or widowhood and when she shall cease to
be my widow either by death or marriage which shall first happen I
then direct my administrators to sell the same and divide it equally
between my several children and if I do decease before my wife, Mary
I do injoine it on my son, Jesse M. Jenkins to take charge of my
plantation and personal property with the exception of my house &
house furniture which my wife, Mary must enjoy during her life and
likewise injoin it on my son Jesse M. Jenkins to see that my wife
Mary do have a genteel maintenance during her whole life and if it
should happen that my son Jesse M. Jenkins should decease before my
wife Mary I direct my administrators to see that my wife Mary is
genteely maintained during her whole life and if she should be
neglected she can make use or make sale of any part of the personal
estate to supply any need that may be neglected, etc.
