Transcript
of Last Will and Testament of
Mary
Smith Jenkins
In
the name of God Amen
I
Mary Jenkins of the District of Greenville, State of South Carolina
being sound in mind but feeble in body and knowing the uncertainty of
life do make and ordain this my last Will and testament. First I
desire to be decently and privately buried without any funeral pomp
and with as little expense as may be. Also I give and bequeath to my
Brother Henry Smith my Bed and bed furniture my chest and my wearing apparel.
Also
I give and bequeath to my Sister Ann Butler the sum of one Dollar.
Also
I give and bequeath to Jesse M. Jenkins all the rest and residue of
my personal estate whatsoever, after the payment of my debts and
funeral expenses and I do hereby constitute and appoint said Jesse M.
Jenkins my sole Executor of this my last Will and testament.

Witness whereof I have hereunto set my Hand and seal this 21st day of
March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty-six.
