1950 - Obituary for Belton Ford Jenkins, Sr.

B. F. Jenkins

B. F. Jenkins, 66, died suddenly at 3 a. m. yesterday at the Anderson Memorial Hospital, where he was rushed following a heart attack he suffered at his home some two miles east of Anderson on the Belton Highway. He expired shortly after reaching the hospital.
Mr. Jenkins, a retired automobile painter and finisher, was a native of Greenville, a son of the late Elihu B. Jenkins, but had lived in Anderson for many years. He was a member of the Shady Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include six sons, H. L. Jenkins, of Greenville, Devon Jenkins, of Clinton, Ill., Jerry Jenkins, B. F. Jenkins, Jr., of Anderson, and Grayson Jenkins, of Clinton, Tenn.; two daughters, Miss Geneva Jenkins and Miss Mable Jenkins, both of the home; two sisters, Mrs. Claude Wilson, of Anderson, and Mrs. Lillie Bass, of Piedmont; six grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Sullivan-King Mortuary Sunday at 3 p. m. Burial will be in the Shady Grove Baptist Church cemetery with his six sons serving as pallbearers.
The body will lie in state at the residence after 10 a. m. today until the hour of the services.
