Christmas Onions ~ Juleløg
This recipe is appropriate for a Low Carb Diet

For low carb diets use crumbs of low carb bread, and watch the serving size
Onions DO have carbs!

 

 

 

 

20 minutes to prepare, 45 minutes till it's done.

  • 4 large onions in rings

  • 2 large leeks in rings (white and light green parts)

  • 6 shallots, sliced

  • ¼ cup butter

  • ¼ cup heavy cream

  • 1 cup coarse bread crumbs

  • 1 cup grated cheddar

  • ¼ tsp paprika

  • salt and pepper

  • 4 store løg i ringe

  • 2 store porrer i ringe (hvide og lysegrønne dele)

  • 6 skalotteløg i skiver

  • ½ dl smør

  • ½ dl fløde

  • 2½ dl grov rasp

  • 2½ dl hakket cheddar ost

  • ¼ tsk paprika

  • salt og peber

 

 

  1. Brown leeks, onions, and shallots in butter till very soft.

  2. Preheat oven to 375ºF.

  3. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.

  4. Place onion mix in greased shallow baking dish.

  5. Mix bread crumbs and cheese and spread over onion mix.

  6. Sprinkle with paprika.

  7.  Bake 20-30 minutes until cheese is melted.

  1. Brun porrer, løg og skalotteløg i smøret til de er bløde.

  2. Forvarm ovnen til 190ºC.

  3. Drys med salt og peber.

  4. Kom løgblandingen i en smurt bradepande.

  5. bland ost og rasp, og kom det over løgblandingen.

  6. Drys med paprika.

  7. Bag 20-30 minutter til osten er smeltet.
